Back in the early 90's I was one of the first people in Orlando Florida to get a Mac Quadra 840AV. It was the fastest and most sophisticated PC you could buy at the time--a whopping $3,400. It was the last of the 68K series for Apple, a 68040. I really loved that machine and a few years later when the PPC machines came out, I said that I would not buy a PPC until it could run classic applications at the speed of my Quadra. It took eight years for Apple to field a machine that fast, so I bought it (8550). I put my old Quadra up on Ebay and sold it for $200+shipping! Do that with any 8 year old PC!
