With luggage like this, you'll never be at a loss at the airport baggage carousel

I saw these suitcases in a small shop in 109, a giant emporium of boutiques in Shibuya in Tokyo. They look a tad ridiculous but no one will ever grab your luggage by mistake and you will see it immediately. I am only wondering what the airport baggage people will think of these. They look like pink wedding cakes.

Cheapest soba soup noodles ever, but it’s how you order it that is unique. First pick the type of noodle dish you want from the plastic window display. Then, go to the machine next to it and press the number corresponding to the noodle dish of your choice. Insert your money, pull out a small ticket and your change. Go inside and hand over the ticket to the noodle guy behind the bar and within a few minutes, he will give you a bowl of noodles. Price: around $4.

In Japan this week

I am in Japan this week. I spoke at the MIMO-Mesh conference in Fukuoka on February 27, then headed to Kyoto for two days. I am in Tokyo for three days, then back to Kyoto for a day before flying back to San Francisco out of Osaka. I took a lot of photos and decided to upload the first batch on Flickr.

I will be posting more observations of my trip to Japan. It’s been a fascinating trip so far.
